All about us!
deli-vert was started in Hoole, Chester by Chris Mayer, who decided
to take a leap of faith into supporting and promoting local food for local communities.
Chris opened the deli-vert shop on Faulkner Street in August 2007.
Chris has lived in Chester for 14 years, initially in Hoole and really enjoyed the thriving community
spirit and hustle and bustle of Faulkner Street and surrounding areas.
Chris and his wife Heidi have a daughter, Lottie, and a son,
Freddie, who are true Cestrians and
both are looking forward to a Saturday job in the shop!!
Our mission
deli-vert provides tasty, quality deli produce and ready to eat foods to take away,
inspired by favourite dishes and with a local twist.
Much of our ready to eat food is made in-house daily, from fresh salads and soups to baguettes and quiches.
We will offer our customers cakes and pastries and drinks such as freshly ground coffees and freshly squeezed
juices to take away.

We create a welcoming, comfortable, relaxed, clean environment and we support the
Made
in Cheshire (external link) campaign to celebrate local fresh produce and reduce food miles.
Many of our products are sourced from local bakeries, farmers and producers within Cheshire.
Our main aim at deli-vert is to have a 50/50 strategy - we aim for at least 50% of the goods that
we sell to be produced from within a 50 mile radius of the shop.

Jeremy from Punk Branding / Patchwork said: I just wanted to send you a short message encouragement and thanks. I love your shop and read about you in a recent FFD article. It's hard for deli's and farm shops at the moment, and they need all the help and support they can get - so it's brilliant to read about inspirational stories such as yours. Keep up the great work Chris!Best wishes,Jeremy
